Biotechnology means any technological application that uses biological systems, living organisms or derivatives there of to make or modify products for specific use. In other words it is the application of living things to create useful tools and products. It has been around for centuries in baking bread, brewing beer and making wine, cheese & compost.

It is the integrated use of biochemistry, microbiology, genetics, physics, maths, computer science and engineering services. The experiments may range simply from isolation of DNA to the down stream processing or Stem cell research to Cloning of animals and plants.

Modern Biotechnology was the consequence of the discovery of the structure of DNA (the genetic recipe that makes us who we are) the building blocks of life. Use of modern biotechnology include making medicines (therapeutics, prophylactic vaccines and diagnostics), combating crime by DNA tests, removing soil, air and water pollution, improving the quality and quantity of agricultural crops and live stock products. In the developed world, biotech has always come up with expensive solutions to problems in medical agricultural and Industrial domains.

Biotech Students having professional attitude, independent thinking, strong communication & presentation skills, theoretical and practical knowledge, creative and innovative talent can be absorbed in any biotech industry with different work areas  such as R&D, Production, Q.C , Q.A, Students qualifying NET or GATE can continue their career in research areas while the students qualifying GRE/ TOEFL can plan their future in abroad universities.

There can never be finite goals. Achieving one set of goals results in a new set of goals.

I am proud of what I have achieved in the country, but I believe that I have a long way to go in terms of global objectives.
