MOOC – Massive Open Online Courses

Students at GIBS are encouraged to enrol in a Certified Massive Open Online Course (MOOC). They have the freedom to choose from a variety of courses, whether they are offered for free or require payment. These MOOC courses should be for a duration of 6 to 8 weeks (or) 40 hours. Upon completing the MOOC course, students are required to take the final exam and obtain the completion certificate along with the grades scored. It is essential for students to submit a copy of the final completed certificate to the examination department before the specified deadline in the 6th trimester.

The grade for the MOOC course will be calculated based on the marks earned in the course. If the marks are not explicitly mentioned on the final certificate, students must provide a screenshot of the marks obtained as well as the URL details along with the certificate.

To ensure proper guidance and support throughout the MOOC course, a chairperson will be appointed. The chairperson will serve as a mentor and guide for the students, providing assistance and addressing any queries or concerns related to the MOOC course.

By incorporating MOOC courses into the curriculum, GIBS aims to enhance students’ knowledge and skills through diverse learning opportunities.
